Cocoa Beach Country Club – 5000 Tom Warriner Blvd., Cocoa Beach, FL

Enjoy a Mardi Gras themed afternoon with the Good Times Jazz Band on Sunday, Feb. 12th, 2pm at the Cocoa Beach Country Club!

They’ve played for decades at Walt Disney World, on the paddle-wheeled cruise ships on the Mississippi, in clubs in New Orleans, and as members of Rosy O’Grady’s Good Time Jazz Band at Church Street Station in Orlando.

Band leader Fred Case proudly says, “We defy you to keep still even for a few seconds when this energetic, toe-tapping joyous sound starts up.”

Fred Case (clarinet, soprano sax and leader) served for 28 years with the U.S. Marine Band in Washington, DC. In Florida, he played with the Disney World Band, the Space Coast Pops, numerous Broadway touring shows, as well as such name bands as Sammy Kaye, Jimmy Dorsey and Harry James. He teaches at Valencia Community College and plays frequently at Disney World.

Bill Boyd (trumpet and music director) was a school band director in Kentucky before teaching in New Orleans. He played in the Disney World Band and for many years on the Mississippi Queen, a paddle-wheel Mississippi River cruise ship out of New Orleans.

Emmett Wright (trombone and vocals) was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in New Orleans. He served 20 years as a musician in the Navy, where he organized his own Dixieland group, “The Original Crabtown Stompers,” working out of Annapolis, Maryland. In Florida, he played for the defunct Circus World theme park band and with Rosie O’Grady’s Good Time Band at Church Street Station in Orlando.

Martin Sensiper (banjo) was born and raised in Los Angeles. He busied himself through high school playing with local rock and country bands. He studied jazz guitar extensively with Bill Thrasher in Santa Barbara, California, and then hit the road working for some time in New Orleans and ending up in Orlando as a staff musician at Walt Disney world. From this base he was also able to work with a wide variety of artists in numerous genres. Still while at Disney, he pursued undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering. While working a day job with defense contracts challenges his mind, he now has the freedom to do even more exciting and varied things in music.

Jeff Burton (tuba) graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Tuba. He became a staff musician at Disneyland in California and then moved to Orlando to continue at Walt Disney World. Jeff Burton worked there for over 25 years and played with virtually every musical group and genre in the Disney property. He was also the leader of the world famous Walt Disney World Band at the Magic Kingdom. As a television performer, he has been featured on Larry King Live, CBS this Morning, and various Disney programs. He was also featured in Time Magazine. Other credits include the Bob Hope Orchestra, The Brevard Symphony and the Beach Festival Orchestra.
